Venues

We are currently negotiating with various venues around the town in order to bring more performance spaces to the festival for 2019. The venues that are currently confirmed are listed below – we’ll add new venues as and when. We will assign shows to the venue that best fits their technical and performance requirements, following consultation with all applicants. You can state a preference on the application form if there is a particular venue you like.

If you would like to arrange your own venue, please let us know.

Arden Theatre

98-seat purpose-built theatre with full lighting rig, bar, backstage and changing rooms. A very popular choice, but one we try to reserve for shows that really need the space and technical capabilities.

Last year this venue mainly hosted theatrical performances, along with some magic, sketch and improv shows.

Address: Arden Theatre, Leslie Smith Drive, Faversham, Kent ME13 8PW

The Limes

An rather plush upstairs room in The Limes pub seating around 30 people. The seating will be arranged in rows, the curtains closed, and a PA supplied. While there is a bar in the room, this will not be operational. The Limes also serves great food if you’re peckish.

Last year this venue mainly hosted comedy and poetry performances.

Address: 59 Preston Street, Faversham, Kent ME13 8PG

Town Hall Main Space

The open exhibition space that forms the ground floor of the new Town Hall. This flexible space will be shared with the Box Office (which will be separated off) and chairs can be arranged in a variety of ways. A PA will be provided. Seats up to 50 depending on the arrangement. This venue has the benefit of being in the market place, so footfall is higher than for other spaces.

Please note: the large cabinets will be moved out of the way.

This is a new venue for Faversham Fringe.

Town Hall Reading Room

A lovely, irregularly shaped room at the back of the Town Hall. We think we can squeeze 30 seats in here. This will be a tech-free space, without a PA – it’s not big enough to warrant amplification. This venue has the benefit of being in the market place, so footfall is higher than for other spaces.
