Two venues for the price of one!

We spent a lovely afternoon at What Now?! at Baltic House yesterday, checking out the upstairs room ahead of the fringe and drinking Dandelion & Burdock. While we were there it chucked it down with rain, so we had to shelter inside the marquee that’s been put up for some upcoming comedy shows. Could we use it for the fringe? Yes!

So now we have two “rooms” at the same venue, meaning we can run twice as many shows. We’re waiting on confirmation on how many people we’ll be allowed to seat in each space, but it’ll still be twice as many as we first envisaged.

We’ll get some photos of the marquee in action this coming weekend, when Ribs has a gig there. The photo above is of the upstairs room.

Introducing Faversham Fringe-lite!

We are very, nay extremely, pleased to announce that we will be running a mini version of the festival in 2021, called Faversham Fringe-lite. Running over the last weekend of July (30th, 31st and August 1st), it will feature as many Faversham Fringe favourites as we can squeeze into the venue.

And what venue is that, we hear you ask? We’re taking over What Now?! at Baltic House, the bar and comedy venue on Standard Quay. It’s a fab little place, with lots of local drinks to sup and upstairs is a neat little room with a stage, lighting and sound. Perfect for fringe shows.

What Now?! at Baltic House, this year’s one and only venue.

We’re programming the shows now, and we hope to unveil the programme by the end of June at the latest. There will be a mixture of Faversham Fringe favourites and some new faces, and maybe even some surprise guests…

Keep an eye on this website and our social media pages for further announcements. We’re on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

This year’s venues

Following last year’s rather large number of venues, we’ve scaled back a bit this time round – we have five venues in total, made up of six performance spaces. They are all in the town centre, so there’s plenty of time to move from show to show (and we won’t need to be race-fit in order to manage them all).

The map below shows the locations of the venues, which are:

The Arden Theatre

Our fourth year in the Arden Theatre, which seats 98 and has its own bar. Wheelchair accessible.

The Limes

Our second year at The Limes, in the lovely upstairs room. Sadly not wheelchair accessible.

The Alexander Centre

This is a very special venue – we’re using the attic of The Alexander Centre for a site-specific play called Left Behind by local theatre company Loosely Woven Theatre. Sadly not wheelchair accessible.

The Town Hall

Faversham Town Hall will be Fringe Central and houses two performance spaces – the Front and Rear Exhibition Rooms. We’ll be running a box office from here every day during fringe week, so if you want to buy tickets or ask questions, please pop in. Wheelchair accessible.
